The second service pack for FSX was a huge addition to the overall series as it helped to smooth out many of the rougher edges still left over from Service Pack 1. If you are looking to really see the benefits that can come from using a flight simulator that’s been patched up, then you need to consider downloading the Flight Simulator X Service Pack 2 installation file. With these changes, bugs can be erased and new features can be added or improved upon to really help bring the entire project on tenfold. Then you would see fsx.exe for MS FSX and fsx_se.Microsoft Flight Simulator X has been reviewed and edited a thousand times over by fans and the creation team alike, helping to improve the realism and the overall quality of the design for years to come. If you want to run both you would have to have MS FSX installed first and then install Steam FSX. NB Don't attempt to install MS FSX when you already have Steam FSX as it makes a mess of the registry. This new computer can install MS FSX easily, all I have to do is to alter the UpperFilters registry entry and replace the additional entries which cause the problem after activation. Might need a cleaner disc for the optic or a new drive. Some older DVD drives might not read the DVDs. I have done four installations to date with no problems. Is there some hack to get past the activation? Are they now allowing activation of the old boxed versions?
You might want to check your local activation center to see if it is operational first off ! If you just take care of both of these problems as you are installing then you should be good to go as far as automated activation is concerned. Microsoft does advise that a repair might be necessary and points out the UpperFilter error. Has there been some change? Are they now allowing activation of the old boxed versions?
